An illustrated list of basketball bruises

An illustrated list of the bruises I sustained in the last season playing league basketball.

A drawing of me in my basketball outfit, surrounded by circles pointing to different parts of my body. Each circle has a drawing of a bruise in it.

I play league basketball in two different teams, and it seems every week I have a new bruise on some part of my body. I’m proud of most of these bruises—they are signs that I don’t hold back in the game, that I am fighting for the ball every time. That I am fierce.

I’ve been entranced by the idea of illustrated lists ever since the lesson on lists as visual storytelling in Wendy MacNaughton’s DrawTogether Grown-Ups Table class. So I created this illustrated list of the bruises (and one broken nose!) I’ve had in the last season.
